What a wild day on Wall Street!

Wow, was today a crazy day in the US markets!  The S&P500 had a spread - the difference between the day's highest price and lowest price - of an astounding 55.75 points.  That's simply incredible.  Check out this 5 minute chart of the ES (S&P500) from today.  Notice the huge swings in price throughout the day only to have it close down .025 points.

Analysts have varying opinions of why markets are moving as such a volatile pace, as well as what to expect in the coming weeks and months.  Some are predicting a double dip recession; some are predicting a bounce next week.
